Ford Focus Service Manual: Bumper Cover - Rear

6 16K262 Bumper cover assembly upper pin-type retainer (4 required)
7 W708319 Bumper cover insert nut
8 W505425 Bumper cover-to-support brace screw

Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02.
  1. Remove the tail lamp assemblies. For additional information, refer to Section  417-01.
  1. Disconnect the license plate light electrical connector.

  1. Remove the 4 bumper cover upper pin-type retainers.
  1. Remove the 2 upper bumper cover retainer screws.
  1. NOTE:

    Sedan shown, coupe similar.

    Remove the 2 fender splash shield-to-bumper cover pin-type retainers (1 each side).


  1. NOTE:

    Sedan shown, coupe similar.

    Remove the lower bumper cover pin-type retainers.


  1. NOTE:

    Sedan shown, coupe similar.

    Remove the bumper cover-to-support brace screws (1 each side, Sedan only).


  1. NOTE:

    The forward upper portion of the bumper cover must be pulled outward to release it from the bumper cover mounting reinforcement bracket.

    Remove the bumper cover.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
