Ford Focus Owners Manual: Closing the convertible top
Note: The convertible top cannot be closed if the vehicle is moving.
Note: The front windows and rear quarter windows will close automatically.
1. Switch the ignition to position II.
2. Press and hold the convertible top switch until the convertible top is fully closed. A chime will be heard.
Manual closure of the convertible top
WARNINGS:
Two people are required when closing the convertible top, one either side. The convertible top must be moved evenly.
Do not drive with the luggage compartment lid locking levers unlocked.
1. Open the luggage compartment lid.
2. Remove the convertible top headliner plug.
3. Use the Allen key and unlock the convertible top locking lever.
4. Partially peel off the luggage compartment weatherstrip on both sides.
5. Remove the luggage compartment carpet retaining clip on both sides.
6. Pull the luggage compartment carpet away slightly on both sides.
7. Pull the luggage compartment lid locking lever release cable on both sides, to release the convertible top.
8. Raise the luggage compartment lid.
Note: The tonneau cover will raise with the convertible top.
9. Close the convertible top.
10. Use the Allen key and lock the convertible top locking lever.
11. Install the convertible top headliner plug.
12. Lower the luggage compartment lid.
13. Open the luggage compartment lid from the rear.
14. Lock the luggage compartment lid locking levers.
15. Refit the luggage compartment carpet on both sides.
16. Install the luggage compartment carpet retaining clip on both sides.
17. Refit the luggage compartment weatherstrip on both sides.
18. Close the luggage compartment lid.
