Disassembly
- Remove the reverse clutch pressure, friction and steel plates.
- Remove the retaining ring.
- Remove the plates.
- Using the Clutch Spring Compressor, remove the reverse clutch piston return
spring retainer ring and retainer.
- Remove the reverse clutch piston return spring.
- Remove the reverse clutch piston assembly.
- NOTICE: If damage is found to the reverse clutch piston seals, install
a new reverse clutch piston.
Inspect the seal bore in drum, inner and outer seals.
Assembly
- Soak the internal spline clutch plates in clean transmission fluid.
- Lubricate and install the reverse clutch piston assembly.
- Install the reverse clutch piston return spring.
- Using the Clutch Spring Compressor, install the reverse clutch piston return
spring retainer and retainer ring.
- Install the reverse clutch pressure, friction and steel plates.
- Install the plates.
- Install the retaining ring.
- Check the clearance. For additional information, refer to Specifications
in this section.
