Removal

NOTE:

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE:

The antenna cables are part of the vehicle wiring harness Because the cables cannot be removed from the harness, this procedure applies to the replacement of the cables only.

  1. WARNING:
    Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).

NOTE:

Steps 2 thru 17 apply for access to the lower antenna cable only.

  1. Vehicles with manual transmission.



  1. Vehicles with automatic transmission.







  1. Vehicles without center armrest.



  1. Vehicles with center armrest.



  1. Vehicles without center armrest.



  1. Vehicles without center armrest.

    Torque: 2 Nm



  1. Vehicle with center armrest.





  1. Vehicles with center armrest.



  1. Vehicles without center armrest.



NOTE:

Sony® sound shown, premium and base audio similar.

  1. Disconnect antenna connector(s).



  1. Torque: 1 Nm


  1. Remove the ACM.

    Refer to: Audio Front Control Module (ACM) (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD, Removal and Installation).

    Refer to: Audio Front Control Module (ACM) (415-00B Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC, Removal and Installation).

    Refer to: Audio Front Control Module (ACM) (415-00C Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Sony AM/FM/CD/SYNC/Touchscreen Display, Removal and Installation).



  1. NOTE:

    Steps 18 thru 23 apply for access to the upper antenna cable only.

    Remove the headliner.

    Refer to: Headliner - 4-Door (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

    Refer to: Headliner - 5-Door (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

    Refer to: Headliner - 5-Door (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

  1. Remove lower B-pillar trim panel.



  1. NOTE:

    5-door only

    Remove the following items:

    1. Remove the passenger front seat.

      Refer to: Front Seat (501-10 Seating, Removal and Installation).

    2. Remove the gearshift lever. Refer to: Gearshift Lever - 5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5/IB5/5-Speed Manual Transmission - MTX75 (308-06 Manual Transmission External Controls, Removal and Installation).

      Refer to: Gearshift Lever - 6-Speed Manual Transmission - B6/6-Speed Manual Transmission - MMT6 (308-06 Manual Transmission External Controls, Removal and Installation).

      Refer to: Selector Lever Assembly (307-05 Automatic Transmission External Controls, Removal and Installation).

    3. Remove the parking brake control.

      Refer to: Parking Brake Control (206-05 Parking Brake and Actuation, Removal and Installation).



  1. Torque: 10 Nm




Installation

NOTE:

The antenna cables are part of the vehicle wiring harness. Because the cables cannot be removed from the harness, this procedure applies to the replacement of the cables only.

  1. NOTE:

    Upper antenna cable

    Overlay the new upper antenna cable on the vehicle wiring harness, following the routing of the original cable. Cut the ends off of the existing cable(s).



  1. NOTE:

    Lower antenna cable

    Overlay the new lower antenna cable on the vehicle wiring harness, following the routing of the original cable. Cut the ends off of the existing cable(s).



  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
